Young Entrepreneurs | July 2-5 | St. Clement's School

Day 4 - July 5th

Hello all!

We had an amazing and very productive last day together! We all finished our products and they will be going up for sale very soon!

We went over the final aspect of the sales funnel - advocacy - when our customers spread the word about our business to other people! We learned what referral and loyalty programs.

We also identified our own Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats as per the SWOT analysis, and then created a sales pitch/slogan for our brands!

We have had an amazing week and I am so proud of all the progress we have made in our short time together!

Day 3 - July 4th

Hi everyone!

Today we went through what a SWOT analysis is - which stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats - and which are internal and external factors.

Then, we covered the loyalty aspect of the sales funnel, in which customers re-purchase your product and become fans of your brand.

Then, we all worked on marketing posters, which will be up on our Instagram @explorerhop - so go check those out!

We also priced our products and are now working towards having them finished so they can go up at the end of tomorrow! I'm very excited to see the final results.

See you tomorrow!

Day 2 - July 3rd

Hi all!

We had a great class today - today we began learning about the sales funnel, which is the process of converting potential customers into loyal customers! We covered the awareness aspect, in which is the stage where customers become aware of your product. Then there is consideration, where customers are debating whether they should buy your product or not. Then comes conversion, where the customer finally decides to buy your product! We did activities in our booklets for each, and will cover the remaining two aspects tomorrow and on Friday.

We sent our market survey out to more people to gather feedback on what people would like to see in our young entrepreneur's products, and reviewed any feedback we had already received.

We then wrote a description for our product, and began working on the products for our respective businesses! Products should be up for sale by the end of the week!

A reminder that our class begins promptly at 1:00 PM, so please make sure our young entrepreneurs are arriving at 12:50 PM!

Thanks for another great day, and see you all tomorrow!

Day 1 - July 2nd

We had an amazing first day and I was so excited to meet our bright young entrepreneurs! Today, we went through all the basics of starting a business, including our operations plan and product plan. We decided what businesses we are going to create, why we are choosing to sell the products we picked, and which charities we are donating the proceeds to!

Callum and Oliver - Comic Books

Sisley - Stickers

Today, we also created a Google Forms survey to be sent out to as many people as possible - this is part of our market research! The survey is designed to gain insight into what kinds of specific products people would want to buy. Parents, please ask your young entrepreneur for the link to their Google Form and send this to as many friends and family members as you can so that we can help our start-ups grow!

We understand that most people don't read the fine print when they enrol in a program, so we wanted to let you know about photos: the instructor may take photos during the class. Rest assured, these photos are never sold or commercially traded. We may use your child's photo on our blog, newsletter, or social media to celebrate their achievements, but we'll never use their full name, school, or other identifying information unless you give us permission. If we post photos during camp, we'll inform you so you can share them with friends and family.

I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Welcome to Young Entrepreneurs!

Welcome to the thrilling world of startups! 🌟

Before our first class, your challenge is to brainstorm ideas for businesses. This week, our classes are small, so our young entrepreneurs can choose to either collaborate on a business together or take on the exciting challenge of creating one on their own—which does require a bit more work.

All proceeds from your businesses will be donated to a registered charity of your choice, so you’ll be making a difference while learning how to become an entrepreneur!

Get ready for an exciting adventure in the world of entrepreneurship!

See you soon!
