What is Math Hackathon?
Who can register?
The competition is open to students all around the world who are between the ages of 11- 17 and who are enrolled full time in school. We welcome students with all different Math levels
Join as yourself or as part of a team!
Participants can join either as individuals (if they want to work on their project solo) or join as a group of maximum 4 members, and work collaboratively with others.
What is the competition all about?
Every year we pick a theme and allow contestants to find a solution using whatever math you know.
Last year, our contestants solved the problem of vaccine deliveries in underpriviledged countries.
This year, our theme is sustainable communities.
How do I submit my solution?
Once the competition opens, you will be able to access our math portal which will allow you to submit your answer. The portal can easily be accessed on the web and does not require any additional software.

Is there an entry fee?
Yes, the entry fee to participate in our Math Hackathon is $20.
More info on joining as a team
To join as a team, all members of the group must be registered as a participant in the Math Hackathon competition. Members of a group cannot have more than a 2-year age gap between them. (Ex. 12-year-olds can work with 13 or 14-year-olds but not with 15-year-olds).
Code of Conduct

Any discrimination or harassment from any participant will not be tolerated. This includes and is not limited to offensive comments, written or verbal, directed at age, sexual orientation, gender, physical appearance, gender, race/ethnicity, religion and/or social & economic status. Inappropriate physical contact, deliberate intimidation and other acts which make others feel uncomfortable count as harassment. Participants asked to stop any impermissible behavior must comply immediately.
Explorer Hop may take any action it deems necessary, including warning the individual or expulsion from the event with no eligibility for a refund of any kind.

Who will get a certificate?
All competitors that complete the Hackathon will receive a certificate. The certificate will be sent to the email address used under the reservation order.
