In our first session on 11th April 2023, we discussed about Money and it’s uses and how the concept of money evolved through barter system.
In yesterday’s class, we discussed about saving and investing, five golden rules of saving and we talked about why it’s important to save money. We also did an activity where we created three envelopes, with red representing spending, blue representing investing, and green representing saving.
This activity was aimed at reinforcing the importance of money-saving habits in our daily lives. In the next class, we will talk about Canadian currency system. As financial literacy instructors, we want you to encourage your child at home and help them develop good money habits.
Talking about money and saving at home can help your child understand the value of money and develop important financial skills that will serve them well in the future. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the next class.

In our last class, we delved into an engaging conversation about Canadian currency. We explored the various people featured on Canadian banknotes and discussed the significance of their presence. The students actively participated in sharing their knowledge and insights on this topic.
Moving forward, tomorrow’s class will focus on the topic of banks. We will be exploring the history of banks and their evolution over time. Additionally, we will discuss the different types of bank accounts available to individuals and the purposes they serve. This lesson will provide valuable insights into the world of finance and instill a foundation of knowledge regarding banking systems.
I encourage you to engage in conversations with your child about these topics to further enhance their understanding and stimulate their curiosity. If you have any personal experiences or anecdotes related to banking that you think would enrich the class discussion, feel free to share them with your child or send them my way.

In our last class, we discussed about the banking system. This session enabled kids to learn about banks, top 5 banks of Canada, savings vs checking account, interest.
In tomorrow’s class, we will talk about budgeting, creating monthly budget and importance of budgeting.

In our last class, we covered the topic of budgeting and its importance. We discussed fixed and variable expenses, and the children participated in a short activity where they created a budget based on a weekly income of $50.
As a continuation of this topic, our next class will focus on money management and living a balanced life. As part of their homework, we have asked the children to visit a nearby bank with you and open a bank account. This will help them understand importance of savings and get to know the procedure for opening a bank account.
Additionally, we would like to ask for your assistance in helping your child create a budget for the upcoming month.
I am sure these exercises will help them develop life skills that will serve them well in the future.

In our last class, we had an engaging recapitulation of Canadian currency and all of them displayed an excellent understanding of the topic. They actively participated and answered all the questions correctly, showcasing their knowledge and comprehension of Canadian currency denominations, symbols, and values.
In addition to our discussion on Canadian currency, we also explored the concept of budgeting and maintaining a balanced life while aspiring for financial success. We emphasized the importance of setting financial goals, making wise spending choices, and saving for the future.
Moving forward, our next two classes will focus on recapitulations of previously covered topics. This will allows us to reinforce their learning.
