- Cilian & Thomas: Pick one more industry so you have 5 industries to play with in the competition and complete the sheet
- Raffa: Complete the Industrials stocks you have picked, it's a good idea to try to find industrial companies which have something to do with the Olympics in LA
- Jojo: Pick 5 stocks in a different industry (Consumer Discretionary may be a good choice as it has a lot of companies that would have something to do with the Olympics)
- Try to get some South American and International companies so that your portfolio is more global in nature.
- Print and Read the Case Study here: https://globalyouth.wharton.upenn.edu/investment-competition/case-study/

Welcome
Hi Everyone!
Welcome to the KCS Investment Club.
In this club we are going to learn the following things:
- How to invest and read stock market data
- How to build a portfolio
After every class, you will be given a trade to put through which matches the information you have learned.
In some cases, you will work in groups and create some analysis docs as well. In this case, everyone in that group will put in the same trade into their individual portfolios.
Link to trading platform:
- We use How the Market Works as it is very intuitive.
- Here is the link to our contest: https://app.howthemarketworks.com/register/291156
- The contest name is: KCS Investment Club Fall
- You have $25,000 to invest.
For those going to competition:
- Link to case study: https://globalyouth.wharton.upenn.edu/investment-competition/case-study/
- Please read this very carefully. Your goal is to make a customized portfolio for the client in the case study.
- Link to approved list of stocks: https://globalyouth.wharton.upenn.edu/investment-competition/stock-list/
- You can only trade stocks on the list so double check that the stocks are on the list.
- You need to keep as many sectors as you have team members + 1 ETF. So if you have 7 team members - you need stocks in 7 different sectors + 1 ETF
- Here are the list of Sectors. A good practice is to assign one sector to one team member as equalizes the work load across the team.
- Energy
- Materials
- Industrials
- Consumer Discretionary
- Consumer Staples
- Health Care
- Financials
- Information Technology
- Communication Services
- Utilities
- Real Estate
