We offer After School Programs and Clubs in Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship and Money Management which are fun, engaging, very hands on and perfectly designed for high school students.  

These clubs are offered in multiple ways to make it easier for schools to incorporate in their day.  Choose from Lunchtime or After-School, In-person or Online.

Program Description: Money Smart Teens is a comprehensive financial literacy course designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills to navigate the world of personal finance confidently. With a focus on practical application, this course covers a wide range of topics, ensuring students gain a holistic understanding of financial management. Here's a detailed outline of what students will learn:

1. Budgeting and Money Management
    1. Develop effective budgeting techniques to track income, expenses, and savings.
    2. Learn how to prioritize spending, set financial goals, and make informed financial decisions.
    3. Explore strategies to manage debt responsibly and avoid common financial pitfalls.
2. Banking and Financial Institutions:
    1. Understand the role of banks and financial institutions in managing money.

*** This program is designed be completed online in self-learning mode but can easily be adapted for classroom instruction.

Learn to Invest: Camp Millionaire Series

Program Description:  Explorer Hop's Camp Millionaire Series is a globally recognized program that teaches youth investing.  At every step, students learn hands on by playing in a simulated virtual trading environment. 

Level 1: Stock Market Fundamentals: The series starts from the basics of responsible investing by focussing on stocks, understanding risk and basic financial analytics. 

Level 2: Focuses on Mutual Funds and ETFs: Learn how mutual funds are made and how to invest in them.  Understand the stock structure of the funds and learn how to read key financial metrics of the funds. Learn how ETFs. 

Level 3: Focuses on Global Finance: Everything in our world is interconnected.  Learn how to trade in global stock markets around the world. Learn how news in one part of the world impacts markets in another part. Understand global differences in these markets and how to benefit from it. 

Level 4: Focuses on Taxation and Optimizing your portfolio: Taxes consume a large part of our profits.  This course teaches students how to optimize their portfolios, students learn tax saving techniques and vehicles and get a good understanding of taxation. 

Level 5: Focuses on Portfolio Building and understanding Macroeconomic Forces.  This courses teaches students techniques to identify and build optimal investment portfolios.  They learn SWOT Analysis, Porter’s 5, how to read a company's financial & cash flow statements,  and their ESG score (Environmental, Social and Governance). They also learn about the need for liquidity and how forces such as inflation and interest rates impact their portfolios. 

Level 6: Focuses on Advanced Trading Techniques and Basic Derivatives: Students start by learning about Forex, after which they get an introduction to Options Trading and a deep dive into Arbitrage and Hedging.  This course set them up to actually start a mock Hedge Fund. 

Level 7: Students build their own Hedge Fund and try to keep clients in their fund:  In this very fun level, students use all the knowledge they have so far to launch their own hedge funds, they learn about hurdles and bid to keep their clients, all while trading derivatives. 

Level 8: Advanced Techniques including Swaps & Futures: In this final level, students learn how to trade arbitrage,then move to futures and options, and then learn about different types of swaps - currency, commodity, interest rate, and credit default swaps.Lastly, they are introduced to alternative investments such as private equity, hedge funds, and REITs, as well as a short lesson on hurdle rates.

Length for each level: Each level is approximately 8 -10 hours.  

For Ithaca College Competition: Levels 1 - 4 & 6  recommended

For those interested in Day Trading or going into university to study Finance: Levels 1-8 are recommended. 

* The program can be easily completed through live instruction online if that is easier for the school.

Program Description: KICK START THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNEY TODAY!

Teen Entrepreneurs is an empowering and comprehensive course designed to teach teens the essential aspects of launching a business, while also instilling the principles of social responsibility.

Throughout this dynamic course, students will dive deep into the world of entrepreneurship. They will explore key concepts such as identifying market opportunities, developing a unique value proposition, creating a compelling brand, and building a strong customer base. We will guide them through real-world examples and engaging exercises, providing them with a hands-on learning experience.

We also focus on the social impact of entrepreneurship. As part of the course, students will have the opportunity to connect with an international organization dedicated to a cause that is close to their heart. Together, they will collaborate and raise funds to support this cause, contributing to a greater purpose and leaving a lasting impact. We have previously partnered with Doctors without Borders, Musicians without Borders, Caritas, UNICEF, UNHCR and many more. 

The course will include the following: 

  1. Ideation and Market Research
  2. Business Planning and getting Organized
  3. Branding and Marketing -including identifying the values of the company and outreach to news agencies. 
  4. Product / Service Development given that students are challenged to make a business with zero capital. 
  5. Operations & Logistic - this includes creating a product page online and ensuring that pre-sale orders are available
  6. Sales & Customer Acquisition - this includes working on their sales pitches and being able to present themselves in a professional way. 
  7. Financial Management - this includes cost estimates, forward projections and real time sales management. 
  8. Legal and Regulatory - researching any laws that apply to their business. For example, even a lemonade stand requires health and safely compliance, and city permits if on public ground. 
  9. Scaling and Growth Strategies - how do they build a business that can easily scale larger and keep growing?
  10. Launching their Business - doing everything they need to ensure a smooth and successful launch, including customer service and responding to queries. 
  11. Building Legacy Clients and Advocates - it doesn’t just end with the pop-up store, students also learn how to harness these legacy clients they have build and make them into advocates for future teen businesses. 

* This program can also be run for 2-3 semesters so that the students have more time to devote to their business. 

** If less than 10 students, this program can easily be run online / hybrid as the product they create is digital. 

***Students are recommended to bring their devices as all the artifacts for their business are stored on the cloud.
