The extent of knowledge that contributes to successful investing is fairly vast, which is why each competitor comes to this challenge with an entirely unique set of experience. One of the best ways for a student to improve their personal investment skills and strategies is to research (thanks for pointing that out for us Parsa). Other ways include analysis skills and advanced concepts, which we teach in more than one of our virtual finance courses. We encourage every Global Investment Challenge competitor to explore the ExplorerHop website and check out all the different courses we offer.

There are a lot of different factors that contribute to the success of an investment, which is why research and analysis is so helpful for making informed decisions. Sometimes though, you have to experiment to learn what works best. You definitely should compete again, and try out your new strategies. Who knows, you might find yourself performing at the top of the leaderboard.

It's good for other students to note that investments (even the virtual kind) require a lot of attention, in order for you to be able to anticipate changes and respond accordingly.
