How to Set Up Payment
Shortcut if you already have a personal PayPal account
Log in → click the Settings gear → Account Type → Upgrade to
a Business account, and your existing balance/history carries
over — no need to start from scratch.
Step 1 — Start the signup
Go to paypal.com and click Sign Up. When asked to pick an
account type, select Business Account.
Step 2 — Basic login info
Enter an email address you check regularly (this becomes the
PayPal login) and create a password.
Step 3 — Confirm the email
PayPal sends a confirmation email — open it and click the
verification link.
Step 4 — Business details
Fill in the shop/business name, business address, business phone
number, and estimated monthly sales.
Step 5 — Choose business type
Two options: Sole Proprietorship or Company.
If you're not a formally registered LLC/corporation, choose Sole
Proprietorship — you can just use your own name and your Social
Security Number, no EIN needed.
If your business is incorporated, choose Company and you'll
need an EIN.
Step 6 — Identity verification info
Enter your SSN (or EIN if applicable) and date of birth — PayPal
uses this to verify identity.
Step 7 — Agree and create
Review the User Agreement and Privacy Policy, then click Agree
and Create Account.
Step 8 — Link a bank account
Enter the bank's routing number and account number — a
business bank account is ideal, but a personal one works if that's
all you have.
Step 9 — Verify the bank
PayPal drops two small deposits (usually under a dollar) into that
account within a couple business days. Log back into PayPal and
enter those exact amounts to confirm ownership.
Step 10 — Done
Once verified, the account is ready to receive payouts!
