Volunteer with Explorer Hop
We are so honoured that you are considering volunteering with us.
Volunteering is more than just giving your time — it’s a chance to develop new skills, connect with like-minded people, and make a meaningful impact in your community. Whether you're here to gain experience, explore your interests, or contribute to a cause you care about, we’re excited to help you get started.
On this page, you will find some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), open volunteer positions and how to apply.
Who can Volunteer?
Explorer Hop accepts students in Grades 9 - 12 as volunteers.
Do Explorer Hop volunteer hours count as Community Involvement Hours?
Yes! Explorer Hop volunteer hours count towards your Community Involvement Hours, and we will complete the Student Community Involvement Activity Notification and Completion Form (needed by TDSB, or the Notification of Planned Activity & Completion of Planned Activity Form needed by other school boards. If you go to a private school, we can also complete the particular form from your school.
I go to an IB school, can my volunteer hours count as my CAS project?
Yes, your volunteer hours count towards your CAS project. We recommend you speak to your IB coordinator at school prior to commencing. Almost all the work we assign to volunteers encapsulates all three aspects of CAS (Creativity, Activity & Service) so you won't have trouble finding a suitable project. You would, however, need to commit to a month of volunteer work, which can be broken up over the year.
Where do I need to come to volunteer?
Almost all the volunteer work we offer is remote and can be done from the comfort of your home. Due to the remote nature of the work, we will determine how many hours the work package should take and those hours will be awarded only after the work is delivered.
