Are you ready to put your MATH skills to the test?
The Global Math Hackathon is an annual event that is tied to the United Nations Sustainability Goals. Students will solve a problem facing our world using only math. To date, our students have found solutions to the inequal distribution of COVID vaccines, the housing crisis and more. The theme this year is Ocean Cleanup.
⚙️ How does it work?
- Sign up as an individual or a group of 4 (each member needs to sign up as well)
- You will immediately get access to the portal with a few practice questions to try out.
- On February 21 at 9:00am EST, the problem for this year will be provided.
- Over the next 72 hours, work by yourself or with your team to find a solution to the problem.
- We are NOT looking for the best math brains, we are looking for the students who can use their imagination and whatever math they have learned to find a reasonable solution to a problem that the whole world is facing. It's all about finding the most common sense practical approach and justifying it with math.
- Before the time is up, submit your answer in the form of a PDF or Word Document.
- The winner will be announced once all our Math Experts have reviewed the responses.
🎓 Why should you join?
- Solve a United Nations program impacting the world using math!
- Learn how to think out-of-the-box and apply math knowledge
- Work with friends to make a memorable team solution
- Make your resume stand out
