3 of the Best Cryptocurrencies to Buy Now

Crypto, Crypto, Crypto!!!!

Crypto, or cryptocurrency, is a word that a lot of us have been hearing at an increasingly constant rate in the last few years. Cryptocurrency is therefore becoming an increasingly potent part of our financial literacy landscape.

The average person likely does not understand too much about cryptocurrencies, even now, but what most of us do know is that there are a few particularly mainstream ones out there – especially Bitcoin. Beyond Bitcoin, there is also Ethereum, Tether, Litecoin, Monero and more.

Due to the general lack of understanding surrounding cryptocurrency, we wanted to use this blog as a way to give out some free (something cryptocurrency is unfortunately not) advice on three of the best cryptocurrencies to buy right now.

Here’s our list, in no particular order.

1. Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin (BTC) is the original cryptocurrency. It is easily the most valuable crypto at the moment – priced at just under $44,000 USD per coin – and because additions to the distributed ledgers must be verified by a process called proof of work, Bitcoin is kept secure and safe from fraudsters (via Forbes). Bitcoin also has the largest market cap of all current cryptocurrencies, making it the most expensive purchase at the moment but also the most future-proof and profitable cryptocurrency out there right now.

 Bitcoin

2. Ethereum (ETH)

Ethereum has a positive perception amongst all in the cryptocurrency space as a result of its potential applications, like so-called “smart contracts”, which automatically execute when conditions are met and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Ethereum is also growing exponentially. From April 2016 to February 2022, its price went from about $11 to over $2,700, increasing nearly 25,000% (via Forbes). Time.com also notes that many experts expect great things from Ethereum in the future, despite a down year for the cryptocurrency in 2021, with some thinking it could hit and/or exceed $12,000 this year.

 Ethereum

3. Solana (SOL)

Originally launched only in April 2020, the rapid growth of Solana in 2021 made the digital coin one of the biggest in the world in terms of market capitalization. Its move into the spotlight coincided with the growing interest in NFTs, as Solana is one of the biggest blockchains in this world. It is seen as a direct competitor to Ethereum, because it can also power decentralized applications. Solana is said, for instance, to reach transaction speeds that are similar to a VISA transaction whilst using far less energy than Bitcoin miners (via Statista)
