Last week at Explorer Hop’s Camp Millionaire 1 Summer Camp, history was made. For the first time in years, an all-girl team swept the Investment Challenge, securing all three top spots. These bright, driven young girls—each no older than 14—proved that the future of finance is female.

The Investment Challenge is the highlight of our Camp Millionaire program. Over five days, students learn the fundamentals of investing, from understanding risk and returns to analyzing stocks and building a portfolio. They then put their knowledge to the test in a simulated real-time stock market competition. It’s high-energy, fast-paced, and incredibly rewarding.
This particular week, something extraordinary happened. A trio of young girls not only stood out—they dominated. Their approach was methodical. They researched diligently, managed risks wisely, and remained composed throughout the ups and downs of the simulated market. What was even more impressive was their ability to collaborate. They asked smart questions, challenged each other’s decisions respectfully, and maintained a strong sense of discipline.
It wasn’t just about numbers. These girls brought emotional intelligence, empathy, and clear communication to the table—skills that are often underestimated in investing but are critical for long-term success. Their performance wasn’t a fluke. It was the result of preparation and an eagerness to learn.
So what does this win mean?
It means everything!!!
In a world where girls are still underrepresented in finance, business, and leadership roles, this victory speaks volumes. It’s a reminder that when given the right tools, education, and encouragement, girls thrive. They don't just participate—they lead.
At Explorer Hop, we’ve long believed that financial literacy should be accessible to everyone, regardless of gender. Our programs are designed to empower young people with skills that will serve them for life. But moments like this show us that something bigger is happening: girls are stepping confidently into spaces where they’ve historically been excluded or overlooked.
And they’re not just showing up. They’re winning.
The success of these young investors is a testament to the changing landscape of leadership. These campers aren’t just future investors—they’re future CEOs, changemakers, and innovators. They are growing up in a world where breaking barriers is no longer the exception but the expectation.
As we gear up for our final Camp Millionaire 1 session of the summer (Aug 4–8, 10am–12pm online), we are more inspired than ever. Registration is open and we hope to welcome many more future leaders—girls and boys alike—who are ready to learn, compete, and grow.
To the young women who won last week: you didn’t just win a challenge—you inspired a movement. And to all the girls reading: the future is yours. Take the lead.
