It's the last day of class! Time flies by so quickly!
What we did: Today, we looked into testing the board game, business plans, and the marketplace. Students learned about product pages and business plans.

Day 4 - August 26, 2021
We had a great lesson today!
What we did: Today, we looked into logic, rule design and creating instructions for the board game. The students learned how to create their own rules, which demonstrated their organization and strategy skills.
What we will do: Next class, we will look into game testing, business plans, and the marketplace. See you all then!
Day 3 - August 25, 2021
We had a great class today!
What we did: Today, we looked into creating player pieces and game pieces. The students learned about the different components in a board game such as spinners, cards, and timers. We had a lot of fun creating the game pieces!
What we will do: Next class, we will look into game theory, logic and rule design. See you all then!
Day 2 - August 24, 2021
We had another great lesson today!
What we did: We looked into design theory, which consists of colour theory, board game pathway, and the overall shape. Students also had the opportunity to draft their board designs on Canva. We had so much fun!
What we will do: Next class, we will look into game components such as game pieces and player pieces. See you then!
Day 1 - August 23, 2021
We had a wonderful lesson today and it was so great to meet you all!
What we did: We looked at examples of board games and their roles in our daily lives. We discussed various tips and methods that can help us create our own board games. We also talked about the blueprint and board designs.
What we will do: Next class, we will talk about design theory and continue to create our board games. I look forward to another great lesson!

Hello,
My name is Julie and I am one of the teachers at Explorer Hop. I am delighted to bring our Create Your Own Board Game this summer. This program is designed as an applied math and art program taught in a collaborative fun way.

Our Create Your Own Board Game program teaches students how to apply their skills in math, logic, and art to create their very own board game in a stress-free learning environment. Students will build their board game through strategy, logic, and design. We will also look into entrepreneurship at the end. This encourages students to sell digital copies of their games to raise funds for a cause.
Students will learn about game theory, the significant role it plays when making a successful game, and how math is applied. They also learn how to effectively test their prototypes and tweak the complexity by adding logic and strategy.
By the end of the program, your child will:
- Create a fun board or card game that is uniquely theirs
- Use practical creativity to make rules for their game
- Apply useful skills they’ve learned about math, logic, and art while making their game.
- Learn to market and sell their board game as an entrepreneur.
Create Your Own Board Game is completely digital, so all you need is your computer! I look forward to see you soon!
