Welcome to Summer Camp 2025

We are so excited to have you with us! In this article you will get all the information you need to have a successful summer camp.  Please take the time to read it.

About Explorer Hop:

Explorer Hop is a global educational company that focusses on Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship.  Along the way we also became an online private school in Toronto and received the honor of being called "the future of education" by the Ministry of Education.  You can learn more about us here.

Follow your Camp Blogs:

Each program will have a camp blog that will share what was done that day and any announcements you need to know.  Please click here and look for the blog that matches your Camp Name and Date.

Accept the Meeting Invite you have already received:

As soon as you purchase the camp, you will receive a google meeting invite from
Explorer Hop Learning <learning@explorerhop.com> for the program.  Please accept it so that you have it in your calendar as well.  Any changes will be communicated via the invite.

What to bring to Camp:

  • A cheery disposition!
  • Lots of ideas and be ready to talk about them.
  • Water Bottle
  • Snacks (NO Nuts, Peanuts, Seafood or Shellfish)

About our programs:

This summer, we are offering our camps both in-person and online.

Where to come for In-Person programs:

Our in-person camps are held at: St Clements School, 21 St Clements Ave, Toronto, ON M4R 1G8.

  • Drop off & Pick up Policy:
  • Our instructors are entrusted with taking care of the campers during camp hours and making the program interactive and fun.  We must therefore request all parents to please comply by our drop off and pick up times as it causes a lot of disruption when students are not dropped off or picked up on time. It's easier for everyone if the kids are dropped off and picked up on time.
  • If your camp starts at 9.00am and ends at 12 noon:
    • Drop off: The doors open at 8.50am and your instructor will be waiting for you at the entrance.  Please come to the main door on St. Clements Ave on time at 8.50am. The facility has a policy in place and will close the doors at 9.00am for the safety of all campers.
    • Pick up: At the end of the day, campers will be escorted down to the entrance at 12.00pm and must be picked up by 12.05pm.  Our instructor is unable to stay down with them for more than this time as there may be other campers who have opted for lunch time and afternoon programs.  If campers are not picked up by 12.05pm, they will be taken back to the class and a fee of $20 for each 20 minutes will be charged.  This is to pay for the cost of renting the facilities and the staff needed to supervise your child.
  • If your camp starts at 1pm and ends at 3-4pm:
    • Drop off: The doors open at 12.50pm and your instructor will be waiting for you at the entrance.  Please come to the main door on St. Clements Ave on time at 8.50pm. The facility has a policy in place and will close the doors at 1:00pm for the safety of all campers.
    • Pick up: At the end of the day, campers will be escorted down to the entrance at the time their program is over (either 3.00pm or 4.00pm depending on the program) and must be picked up by either 3.05pm or 4.05pm.  Our instructor is unable to stay down with them for more than this time.  The facility closes at 4.00pm so if you are not there by 4.05pm we have no where to keep your child and the instructor is not able to take them to a restaurant etc nearby. Please note, there is a charge for this as we need to pay our staff for the additional hour and there is a flat fee of $20 for every 20 minutes you are late.
  • Lunch-time care:  Our campers often take both the morning and the afternoon program.  There is a charge of $15 per day for the lunch time supervision.  We do not supply lunch so please send a lunch with your child.  All lunch time supervision needs to be purchased before hand.
  •  Campers over 10 years old: Campers may leave on their own.  If you do not want your camper to leave on their own please inform the instructor or we will assume they can leave on their own.
  • Administering Medication during camp hours:  Our Instructors are not qualified or insured to administer medicine.  Please do not send your child with medicine to the camp.
  • Campers with extraordinary diagnoses:  We welcome everyone in our camps, however our instructors are not qualified or trained to deal with campers who require more than the normal care.  If your child does need that, please contact us so we can get an understanding of what is needed.
Online programs:
At Explorer Hop we love our online programs and they are designed to be fun, interactive and truly fabulous.  We spent significant effort during Covid perfecting these programs and are really quite proud of them.
How to have a successful online program:
  1. Turn your video on!  It's not fun talking to black screens so please turn on the screen and allow your kids to participate fully. If we don't see your child, we don't even know if you they are there!
  2. Keep background sound to a minimum or get your child a pair of headsets.
  3. Give them some snacks and something to drink
  4. Connect to the google meets provided before the camp starts so you don't miss the beginning.
