Day 10:

In today's class each group practiced their sales pitch and got ready to make their FINAL presentations. They were also introduced to the concept of funding and crowdfunding!

In today's class, we discussed how to create a sales pitch for the kid's businesses.

In today's class, we discussed Social Media Marketing and how to create their first post for Instagram.

Day 7: 

In today's class, we discussed Marketing Strategy and how each group can work on a strategy for their business idea. 

The groups also continue to work on their product and adapting the feedback they receive in every class.

Day 6:

Today's class was all about discussing various components required for building their product, working through any feedback received on their product and prepping for creating a marketing strategy.

Day 5:

Today's class was about discussing different pricing strategies, how to build and structure a product. 

The groups split in breakout rooms to discuss their plans for price strategy and different aspects of their product's design, be it a book, album or video idea.

Day 4:

Today's class was about discussing what is a product description, how to build it and package it for the audience. This includes details like tagline, features and benefits, logo and pricing strategy.

The groups discussed product description, what should be listed as the features and benefits of their product. They were also encouraged to think about a tagline and to discuss what elements and design should be used to create a logo for their business.

Day 3: 

Today we discussed the team structure and different roles each member could take on. Further we discussed building a questionnaire and how to reach out to friends and family for the market research for their idea.

The task today was to come up with relevant questions and create a google form that can be shared with family and friends, for the group's research.

Day 2: 

We started with a recap of last class and encouraged the kids to brainstorm their final business concept. 

We discussed Market Research and it's importance. Once the session was done, the groups discussed various ways they can reach out to their friends and family to survey and ask questions related to their business and products.

Day 1

We started our first day talking about different types of businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs. With the class taking turns in participation, we also discussed:

  • What should be your business about?
  • What problem does it solve?
  • What makes a business successful?

At the end, the class was divided into four groups to encourage the kids to discuss within themselves what should be their business idea.

Welcome to Young Entrepreneurs! 

My name is Savindi. I am Marketing and Operations Associate of Explorer Hop and will also be your child's Entrepreneurial coach this week.

The purpose of this camp is to teach children the potential of starting and launching their own businesses that would become a social initiative.

Through the week, they will be building a simplified business plan. They would exchange different company roles such as CEO, Finance VP, Marketing VP, Sales VP, Operations VP, and more. They will learn to build a solid brand from customer and competitor research. They will learn how to design a logo and advertisements. 

I have met repeat students and so many of them have already built a business. It is so exciting to see them implement what they have learned through our Entrepreneurship, Video Editing, Graphic Design, and Website building classes.
